SAVAGES
Savages are the league’s best and most talented team at the moment. They’re the last remaining undefeated squad. They’re ranked 3rd in offense and defense. They’re one of the most balanced and athletic teams in the league. Anwar is absolutely in the MVP discussion. It was stated that Hashim deserves the award, but Anwar also deserves it. Without Anwar, this team has no direction offensively. We’ve all seen how they operate without him. They’re one of the clear favorites for the title. However, we’d like to see how they perform against a complete AK team. They will play a determined Underdog team that have won 3 games in a row.
UNDERDOGS
The Underdogs demolished the Thunder in an absolute blowout. They’ve won 3 in a row and they’ve looked better and better each week. They’re starting to figure out how to play with all the athletes they have. Waqas looks a lot more comfortable and is making the throws we’re accustomed to seeing. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of defense they’ll play against the Savages. It may be worth a shot to try man defense against the Savages. The Underdogs have the depth, speed and athleticism to play man. If they rely on their zone defense too often, Anwar will pick them apart.
MATCHUP
We’re a bit surprised to see the Underdogs at 4-3. We expected them to be better. They started off the season with a somewhat difficult schedule and now they’re finding their stride. The Savages have been a juggernaut from day 1. They’re outstanding offense and defense have propelled them to the only undefeated team. Do we see them going undefeated the rest of the way? Absolutely not. They will however finish as a top 3 team. We expect the Underdogs to stay put at the 4th or 5th seed. There is a slight chance the Savages can fall to the 4th seed which means they may have a 1st round matchup with the Underdogs or Gators. We know for a fact, the Savages don’t want any part of those teams. The incentive of being a 1st or 2nd seed is so drastic from a competition perspective. If they finish 1st or 2nd, they will play one of the bottom dwelling teams. Can the Underdogs pull off the upset? If we look at the QB matchups, Anwar is definitely better. He’s a bit more accurate and has more creative play calling. Defensively, the Underdogs surprisingly rank 6th in the league, while the Savages are 3rd. Offensively, the Underdogs rank 5th. This matchup has Savages winning. They’re more balanced and have more dangerous weapons. We don’t expect a blowout by no means. The Underdogs will be in this until the last 10 minutes of the game when the Savages will pull away.

AK VS GATORS
AK
AK is well rested from a bye week. There’s no need to discuss how good this team is. We all know they’re the most talented team when the entire team shows up. Our concern right now is Sims. There are games where he shows up and then there are games where Amneet QBs. They’ve had a relatively easy schedule to start off the season. They’re scheduled to play the Gators and Browns twice. This will be a huge test for this team and we expect them to go 3-1 down this stretch. The key to this team is Sims. If he shows up to the final remaining games, this team may likely go 4-0. It’ll be very interesting to see where this team is in the standings. It really doesn’t matter where they are. This team will be favored in almost every game. They’re the most dangerous team in the league right now. They’re the #1 ranked offense and defense.
GATORS
The Gators put up a great fight against the Savages early. During the 2nd half, it was very clear that their defense was tired. This is going to be a lingering problem for them as the season progresses especially into the playoffs. If one of their core players is hurt and can not play a specific game for any given reason, it may cost them a forfeit. We’re not sure why they don’t have any depth. They’ve been together for over a year and we expected them to build and strengthen the bench. Richie is a stud QB. He’s the team’s most important player and is one of the league’s best QBs. The thing that amazes us about the Gators is that they’re ranked 2nd defensively. That is extremely impressive given the lack of depth on this team. Can they hold their own against AK?
MATCHUP
If we look at the history books, we don’t think the Gators have ever beaten AK. AK can lock down and wear out the Gators receivers with their aggressive man defense. It will be very hard for the Gators to get any separation. AK’s offense is too explosive and fast. This is a very bad matchup for the Gators. Richie is an excellent QB, but Sims is an MVP caliber player. Offensively, AK is a lot faster than the Gators. They will utilize their speed and take full advantage of a slower Gators defense. We expect AK to win this one.
