Time to see which one of these teams is an early season contender and which will fall into an 0-3 hole. Floral Park played great vs Prime Time (1-1) and almost pulled out the win. Stingy defense and a very consistent offense are the reasons why both teams have stayed competitive in their matches thus far.
Newcomer Donnie Ricky Jr. is showing all that he belongs amongst the top receivers in this league. We expect this team to step up to the challenge this week against a familiar foe. Queens “QD” Diesel also lost in a heartbreaking fashion last week by 1 point to an undermanned AK (2-0) squad. Newcomer Joseph is tied with the league lead in receptions and seems to be the go-to guy on this offense. The defense was formidable but that was the week to sneak one vs AK and they just couldn’t make it happen.
We are excited to see these two teams get better each week, as both are fresh to the league and have enough talent to make some noise. This week will be a battle, and the key will be an early game success. If Floral park wants to win, they will need to keep the game close and play sound defense against a mistake-prone offense. If QD wants to win, the defense will need to confuse Floral Park with several looks on defense. The offense needs to use the talent around QB Joe Ponte without forcing the ball downfield.
