SAFL D1 Predictions: October 1, 2022 | Gators vs Floral Park @ 9:15 am | Eisenhower Park

Gators (1-2) vs Floral Park (0-3)

This game can get ugly this week as the all-mighty Gators have lost two in a row and are looking to take it out on somebody. Floral Park will need to have their guys there in order to stay in this game and keep it close. They have been close against top-tier teams. Last week they were short and it showed after getting routed by Queens “QD” Diesel (1-2). The Gators were outplayed by AK Santaali (3-0), and although the final score was close, the game was more of a blowout. The Gator trailed by 2 to 3 possessions for most of the second half after rallying to make a last effort to lose by only one possession. The Gators are a perennial powerhouse, and it just doesn’t seem right off the screen with the Gators being 1-2.

Floral Park is looking for its first win and if they do have all their guys there, they can definitely put up points and make stops against the Gators. QB Dean Emma had a rough outing last week against the stout AK defense and is looking to rebound this week and go wild on Floral Park. QB Don Rickey Sr. and his son Don Rickey Jr. have looked impressive out there and must be on point this week to keep up with the Gators. If Floral Park wants to win, they need to minimize errors on offense and score on long drives to keep the Gators’ offense off the field. The defense must try to get turnovers as AK did last week in order to pull off the big offset here. If the Gators want to win the offense has to go back to having ball security and letting the talent that they have get into open space and score touchdowns. The defense must take away the Don-to-Don connection and make others beat them.

Now we are hoping for a close game here, but the prediction will be a 3 touchdown game.

Prediction:
Gators 41
Floral Park 20
